Breaking: PWA Board Announces Tournament for Vacant United States Championship

PWA fans, recently the decision was made to strip Randy "The Rowdy Hillbilly" of his PWA United States Championship due to his injuries at the hands of "The Razorback" JT Hogg.

An 8 man single elimination tournament has been announced to fill the vacancy. The tournament will take place this Saturday, November 11th in Newark, Ohio. The first round matches are as follows:

"The Razorback" JT Hogg will take on Jeremy Rodriguez, while the other half of Forte Rico, Tommy Forte, will do battle with Wicked Will. In another first round match-up, two Former PWA Tag Team Champions will got at it as "The Irish Hitman" Lafferty goes against his former partner, Chase Ryan. And in the final match of the opening round, "Gorgeous" Morgan Taylor will square off against The Buckeye Kid. The winner of those matches will move on to the semi-finals and move one step closer to capturing PWA gold.

One would imagine Lafferty to be the odds-on favorite as he is the only one of the eight men to have held a PWA singles title in the past (Lafferty is a former PWA Heavyweight Champion).

All eight competitors will be eager to advance and claim the United States Championship. Sources have confirmed to that the entirety of the tournament will take place on November 11th in Newark, Ohio. This, of course, means that a new United States Champion will be crowned by the end of the night.
