On Saturday February 4th the PWA Tag Team Championships changed hands when the Phenomenal Phoenix Brothers defeated Bryan Blade and "The Outlaw" Tony James.
Scheduled to be Bryan Blade and Jim Daily, the match started with Tony James saying Daily had been injured. James went on to say that the PWA would not clear Daily to wrestle that evening and due to that, he had to fill in and take his spot. The match ended as Mace Young superkicked Blade and Jimmy Fahrenheit rolled him up for the 1-2-3.
Since that day, we have done our own investigation into the claims made by one Tony James and The American Outlaws.
We have spoken to members of the PWA Championship Committe and they have released the following statement:
"On Wednesday February 1st, our offices were contacted by Jim Daily who said he was unfit to wrestle due to injury. We asked Mr. Daily to provide us with medical documentation to verify his injury and provide us with a return date from his doctor. Mr. Daily asured us that we would receive all the documentation we would need before the close of business on Friday February 3rd.
Mr. Daily nor his doctor sent any documentation nor did he contact us to inform us when we would receive the paperwork. As a courtesy to Mr. Bryan Blade, we allowed him to choose a partner to replace Mr. Daily.
Being that it is 1 week later and we have still not received any information from Mr. Daily or his doctor, we have been given no alternative but to suspend Mr. Daily indefinitely. An investigation is being launched that may result in either his returning to the PWA Or his contract being fomally terminated."
We will keep you informed as this story develops.
